In honor of Valentine’s Day and Heart Health Month, we want to share this TED talk from cardiologist Sandeep Jauhar, who says, “Emotions can, and do, have a direct physical effect on the human heart.”

Jauhar says that sudden events like the death of a loved one, a domestic dispute and, even public speaking can cause a heart condition called Takosuba Cariomyopathy, characterized by the same symptoms as a heart attack. It is also known as the broken heart syndrome. On the other hand, emotional support and community can help those suffering with cardiovascular disease reduce their risks and improve.

Needless to say, we <3 this talk!
